Festival Time!!!!

October 12-18, 2006

Just got back from a wedding in New Jersey that probably cost more than my entire annual salary. Holy Moly. Good, though. And now I'm back in Austin for an extended period and should be able to keep you up to date on all the exciting and fun events coming up that will keep you busy and happy -- like the International Accordion Festival down in San Antonio, for example. That's this weekend, and the weather looks like it's going to cooperate (mostly). YAY!!! Festival Acadiens is this weekend, too, so I think you should definitely be planning a road trip. With fall really really really trying to get here, what could be better?

SATURDAY, OCTOBER 14

Contra Dance Demo
Farmer's Market / Republic Square; 4th at Guadalupe / 10 am; free (family)
I've said it before and I'll say it again. If you're not a dancer, but you're toying with the idea of maybe learning to dance -- you couldn't do better than to attend a contra dance event. Dances are relatively simple, you don't need a partner, and every one of them is taught before you do them. I know people who thought they could NEVER learn to dance who are now kick-ass dancers because they started with contra. Give it a try. 342-2508 for more info.
