Going, going, gone

January 17-23

What the bleep! January is already half gone! Where? Where the hell did it go? I was using it!!!!!

Using it to prepare for a huge symposium at work, using it to get my lip and my lungs back so I can play the bassoon with my musician pals, using it to help Steve get his show ready for Frontera Fest. Using it, using it, using it! And now it's almost gone. Dang!

As you probably know, Dr. Martin Luther King's birthday was day before yesterday, and if you're lucky like me, you'll get the day off to celebrate it on Monday. Someone sent me this video, honoring the legacy of Dr. King, and I thought it was absolutely lovely, so I'm going to share it with you. Enjoy.

Frontera Fest
Various times/various venues
Last year, after four consecutive years participating in Frontera, I decided to give it a break. Of course I did not. So this year, after FIVE years in a row, I decided that this time I really mean it. NOT. I'm writing music for Steve Barney's new play "Prepare for Arrival and Cross Check" which will open at the Blue Theatre as part of the long fringe on Jan 25. (click here to see what the XLent has to say about the show before it even hits the stage, with a cute picture of Steve, too.) So come see it for sure, for sure! And it looks like I may be participating in the Mi Casa es su Teatro again this year, oi! (I'm just a girl who can't say no!)Or check out the short fringe at the Hyde Park Theatre -- 5 short plays per night, different every night!
