Announcing Ella Rose

November 30-December 6, 2006

Ella Rose, my newest grandbaby, arrived around noon yesterday and has already charmed her father (my son) past all hope of recovery. All she had to do was to grab his finger, and he instantly and willingly became her slave. I don't know that any baby was ever more tenderly wanted, awaited and cherished. What a lucky kid she is. Now I have to get on the stick and find her a tiny little flight jacket and goggles because I know she's bound to start flying with Daddy just the minute she's big enough.

Thanksgiving may officially be behind us, but this gift of Ella Rose extends the 'thanks' part of it, all the more so because of the nightmare labor ending in an emergency C-section which saved both mother and baby. It's like that extra dollop of whipped cream on the sweet potato pie, mmmmmm.

And speaking of sweet potato pie, there are plenty of chances for atoning for that extra slice this weekend, so get your dancing shoes on.
