Pirating someone else's story because I'm lazy

September 20-26

Yesterday was, as you probably know Talk Like a Pirate Day. Governmental and educational institutions were still open, aarrrgh; but one of these days I'm sure they'll see the importance of the day and suspend all services accordingly in order to give employees the opportunity to spend the day with their shipmates. Even though the day has come and gone, I wanted to share a little something written by one of our regular readers (El J) who just happens to be a humorist/columnist. It contains a brief history of the holiday and reflects on the implications it has in the world global arena. Click here and enjoy!

And...

...here's a video of a dance company I saw many years ago featuring men who short of look like pirates. Sort of. The production values are not that great, but man, the dancing sure is! And yes, those guys are actually dancing on the tops of their toes. Ow. Enjoy the Georgia National Ballet (Georgia as in central Asia, not Georgia as in southern US). (aviso: don't try this at home!) (note to self: get job as orthopedic surgeon in Georgia.)
